SONDRA ROSE LOEWENSTEIN
My name is Sondra Loewenstein and I am a professional painter in New York City who specializes in animal portraiture. Growing up in New York has really defined my approach as a fusion between original and bold metropolitan expression. However, I am a classically trained painter and can therefore work in any style. My professional training includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Tulane University with specializations in Art History and Painting, as well as a Master's Degree in Art Appraisal and the History of Art Making from Christie's Auction House. Over the years, I have had exhibitions in New York, New Orleans, and California, and I hope to continue expanding my beloved artwork throughout the country. Perhaps what defines me the most is my love for animals - I am an absolute animal enthusiast! My five very beautiful pets -- the loves of my life -- include a chocolate lab, 3 bearded collies, and a cat! Painting for over two decades, I have decided that a marriage between my two favorite pastimes -- painting and pets -- would result in the finest and most tender portrayal of man's best friend. By founding Pawtraits, I am able to continue helping animals in need by personally donating part of the proceeds to a number of organizations, such as the ASPCA, SPCA, Waggytail Rescue, Stray from the Heart, VetDogs, and the Brooke Jackman Foundation.
