"Dylan" by Lindsay Zuflacht

When I thought about having a portrait done of my Yorkie Dylan I never imagined it would be so incredibly special, but then I met Sondra Loewenstein. I talked with Sondra about what I wanted out of this portrait. She told me that before I showed her a picture of Dylan, she wanted me to tell her a little bit about him. I told Sondra about his personality and how his being from New Orleans, a city that means so much to me, plays a big role in why he is so special and unique. Sondra took my story and with the brush of a paintbrush and a blank canvas…she turned it into art.  The portrait not only captures Dylan’s adorable personality but the very city he was born in as well. The fleur de lis, the symbol of New Orleans, in the backdrop of the painting shine through as a constant reminder of the place where Dylan and I first met. His little grin, bright eyes and sweet demeanor can be seen and felt from the painting itself. I never dreamed that a painting could speak to me as much as this one!

"Rocko" by Ariel Bronson

"Sondra is a truly talented painter whose ability to capture the energy and personality of my dog just blew me away. The painting was actually her first portrait, and her natural ability to convey my dog's charisma was clear. The painting jumps off the canvas - Rocko's eyes shine as bright and loving as they are in person. It is very clear Sondra transposes her passion and love for pets into her artwork, and this is what makes her paintings so special."

“Andre” By Asher George McInerney

When I first sat down next to Sondra in a painting class at Tulane I coud see the brilliance sparkling off of her easel. Soon after I dropped out of the class... I knew she was a great painter and I didn't even wan't to have to learn / compete to get there. She has a passion and I don't. Later in life when I learned of her business painting portraits of dogs I immediatly jumped on board. I love my dog and I thought there would be no better way to pay tribute to all the joy he has given me than by having him immortalized in a piece of fine art. The price was right and I was excited for Sondra to use her creativity to express my dog with her brush strokes of genius. When she emailed me a picture of the progress I was blown away. Her creative interpretation exceeded my wildest dreams. The final product is a masterpiece that I showcase above the fireplace on my living room mantle for all to see. I get many compliments about the piece and I have no choice but to point the finger to Sondra and refer all dog lovers her way for their own masterpiece.

"Riley” by Melanie Fidler

My dog Riley, has become a part of my family. As a photographer, I always appreciated great art and frequently looked for new talent at various galleries. I came across Sondra Lowenstein’s work both online and at a show in New York City and knew instantly that this woman would be capable of painting our beloved pet. She was a professional and experienced artist who I trusted would portray my pet, Riley, in the most adorable and lovable light. The final painting was much more than I ever dreamed of. The colors she used really brought Riley to life. The entire feel of the painting really portrays Riley’s exuberance and energetic personality. She took the photo I gave her and turned it into a masterpiece. I would highly recommend Sondra’s pawtraits to everyone who has a love for animals, especially their endearing pet. Her pawtraits are creative, bold, and beautiful and are artistically unique.
